Lumecca

Lumecca is a breakthrough intense pulsed light (IPL) that delivers up to 3X more energy in the 500-600 nm range to improve efficacy for vascular and pigmented lesions. The laser is set to target dark brown and red spots as well as vessels and veins. It is the Gold Standard treatment for Rosacea. During treatment there will be a bright flash of light from the Lumecca that feels like a light elastic sensation. Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subsides within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards, the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of skin tone.

After treating vascular lesions, you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.

An improved skin appearance can be noted after the first session. Multiple sessions provide even better results. Treatment regime depends on the severity of skin damage, skin type, type of treatment (vascular vs sun damage) and energy settings.

After a Lumecca treatment, you may experience age spots and freckles looking darker for the first 3 - 7 days, which is normal. In a magnifying mirror, they appear to look like hundreds of coffee grounds and these will begin to flake off in 7 - 10 day. You can cover these areas immediately with make-up resulting to no downtime. You might experience slight redness like a sunburn. If you are being treated for Rosacea with the Lumecca, you can expect bruising that may last up to 3 weeks, but once again, this can be camouflaged with make-up or tinted sunscreen.
